Our first games for the prie table have arrived!  GAME SURPLUS, another second-time sponsor, graciously donated Caveman, Tigris & Euphrates, and the terrific dexterity game Riff Raff for us to try and win!  GameSurplus.com is a unique game store in that it specialies in getting games that are hard to find here in the US and offering them up for fair prices.  Thank you Thor!  More announcements to come soon -- I have lots more sponsors that have already committed!

I am pleased to announce that sponsors are starting to roll in!  I'll start off with two-time sponsor Rio Grande Games, always quick and always generous.  Rio again provided games to the convention library, and I can already tell you that Monster Factory is a huge hit in our house.   Thank you Rio Grande!

We got a surprise sponsor on the day of the Rickcon as Spinmaster delivered some goodies to the prize table.  The popular Stomple, a big hit in this household, along with a few other games showed up and we couldn't have been happier.  Thanks so much for the sponsorship, Spinmaster!  Please go check out their website.

Thanks for attending Rickcon 2012!

Once again, the Rickcon was a success thanks to its attendees and sponsors.  A new attendance record was reached this year, as 71 of us played games with old and new friends alike.  The Telestrations Celebration was a huge success too, and eight attendees went home with the copy they played.  Head over to the Photo Gallery and Grand Champions pages to check out the sights and behold the winners of the event!

Prize count and an announcement on shirts

Posted by Rick Baptist on March 21, 2012 at 12:40 PM Comments comments (0)

Hey Rickcon attendees! We are in the home stretch now and I'm getting excited. I just did a prize count and we're sitting at around 65 games and gift certificates that we'll be handing out in less than two weeks! And of course along with that the camaraderie of good friends, food, and gaming.

A quick note -- the inaugural Rickcon t-shirt (featuring our awesome logo by David Richards) will be debuting as well. I will be selling the shirts for around $10-12 dollars depending on the final totals. The small profits received will be poured right into the next Rickcon. We'll have two different shirts -- gold and charcoal. If you're interested in getting a shirt, please send me a private message and I will make sure one is held for you. If not, they will be available for purchase at the event.

See you guys soon!!

North Star Games wishes me a Crappy Birthday!

In this case, it's a GOOD thing!  Today we received a copy of Crappy Birthday from our newest sponsor, North Star Games!  You have probably played Wits & Wagers before, now we'll have to pull this one out and play it.  After all, it IS my birthday!

Fantasy Flight and Gorilla both hop on!

I talked to Jeff of Gorilla Games at Strategicon and he was both kind enough to donate Hunting Party to the raffle and also say that he'll try and make it out! I would love to play World Conquerors with him as I missed my chance at the big con.  Fantasy Flight has also sent me a package for the Rickcon and I really appreciate these companies and their donations!

Game companies and stores that support the Rickcon are TRULY special -- we really appreciate you and I know that our attendees will show that support during the year and beyond.
